Privacy policy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 2026
Scope
Osami ("Osami," "we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information we learn about you through osamiofficial.com (the "Site"), through purchases, and through any of our services (together, the "Service").
If you do not agree with this policy, please discontinue use of the Service without providing us any personal information.
Information we collect
We collect personal information (a) directly from you, such as when you place an order, create an account, join our mailing list, or contact us; (b) from your device and browser when you visit the Site; (c) from cookies and similar technologies; and (d) from third parties, including our payment processor, shipping carriers, and advertising partners.
Identifiers. Name, email address, postal address, phone number, account username and password.
Financial and transaction information. Billing address, order history, and purchase preferences. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers.
Device information. Device type, browser type, unique identifiers, IP address, and approximate location derived from IP address.
Internet activity. How you interact with the Site, including pages visited, order and duration of visits, referring pages, and interactions with our emails.
Inferences. Preferences and characteristics we draw from the information above, used to tailor what we show you.
Customs information. Because we ship internationally on a delivered-duty-paid basis, we provide your name, delivery address, and order contents to customs authorities and carriers as required to clear your parcel.
You are not required to provide all of this to use the Service, but some functionality depends on it. We cannot fulfil an order without a delivery address, for example.
We do not collect or process sensitive personal information as defined under California law, and we do not use or disclose personal information for purposes requiring a right to limit under that law.
Cookies and tracking
A cookie is a small file a website transfers to your browser. We use the following categories:
Strictly necessary. Required for the Site to operate — logging in, keeping items in your cart, completing checkout.
Analytical and performance. Help us understand how the Site is used and how to improve it. We use Google Analytics for part of this. See google.com/policies/privacy/partners, and opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Functional. Remember your preferences and previous visits.
Marketing. Track visitors across websites to show advertising we believe is relevant.
Our store runs on Shopify, which sets its own strictly necessary and analytical cookies. See shopify.com/legal/cookies.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you do, parts of the Site may not work — including the cart and checkout.
Opt-out preference signals. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and similar browser-level opt-out signals as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for the browser on which the signal is enabled.
Children's privacy
The Service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
How we use personal information
- Providing the Service and fulfilling orders
- Managing our relationship with you and responding to your enquiries
- Processing returns, exchanges, and refunds
- Sending marketing communications where you have opted in
- Administering promotions, events, and surveys
- Personalising the Site and analysing how it is used
- Tailoring advertising, including through advertising partners on other websites
- Detecting and preventing fraud and security incidents
- Complying with legal, tax, and customs obligations
How we disclose personal information
We share personal information with:
Service providers, including our e-commerce platform (Shopify), payment processors, email and marketing platform (Klaviyo), shipping carriers (DHL, UPS), returns platform, hosting and IT providers, and fraud prevention providers.
Advertising networks, to deliver and measure relevant marketing.
Customs authorities and brokers, as required to clear international shipments.
Advisers and financial institutions, including auditors and legal, tax, and accounting advisers.
Third parties in a corporate transaction — a merger, sale, or transfer of assets — where permitted by law.
Government bodies and law enforcement, in response to a subpoena, warrant, or other lawful request, in connection with an investigation, or to protect our rights.
We do not sell personal information for money. Under California and several other state laws, however, our use of advertising and analytics cookies may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, because those partners may use the data for their own purposes. See the state rights section below.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected. In practice:
- Order and transaction records — seven years, to meet tax and accounting obligations
- Marketing contact data — until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not contact you again
- Account data — for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards
- Analytics and cookie data — typically up to 26 months
- Support correspondence — up to three years
We may keep information longer where required to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim, or where otherwise permitted by law.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message, or by emailing us. Opt out of marketing texts by replying STOP. You cannot unsubscribe from transactional messages about your orders or account.
If you have an account, you can log in to view and update your name, address, and password.
Security
We maintain reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, alteration, and unauthorised access. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us online. To the extent permitted by law, we assume no liability for disclosure resulting from transmission errors, unauthorised third-party access, or other causes beyond our control.
Do not share your account password. If you believe your account is no longer secure, contact us immediately.
US state privacy rights
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights over their personal information. Depending on your state, these may include the right to:
- Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the third parties we disclose it to
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions
- Portability — receive your information in a portable format
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and of targeted advertising
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights
- Appeal a decision we make about your request, where your state provides for it
Categories collected and disclosed. In the past twelve months we have collected the categories described under Information we collect, and disclosed each of them to service providers and to advisers and financial institutions for business purposes. We have disclosed Internet Activity, Device Information, and Inferences to advertising networks — which may constitute "sale" or "sharing" under state law.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
How to exercise your rights. Use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer to opt out, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser. For access, correction, deletion, or portability requests, email support@osamiofficial.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us which state you reside in.
We will verify your identity before acting on a request, using information we already hold about you. If we cannot reasonably verify you, we may not be able to respond. An authorised agent acting on your behalf must provide proof of your signed permission, and we may still ask you to verify your identity directly.
Residents of the EU, UK, and Switzerland
Data transfers. We operate from the United States, and your personal information will be processed there. Where required, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum for cross-border transfers.
Legal bases. We process personal information: (i) as necessary to perform our contract with you; (ii) to comply with a legal obligation; (iii) with your consent, where required; and (iv) for our legitimate interests, including operating and securing our business.
Automated decision-making. We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you through automated processing alone.
Your rights. Access, rectification, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
To exercise these rights, email support@osamiofficial.com with the subject line "EU Privacy" or "UK Privacy." If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Residents of Canada
To access, update, or correct your personal information, or to change your consent preferences, log into your account or email support@osamiofficial.com with the subject line "Canada Privacy." You may also contact us for information about how our foreign-based service providers process your personal information, or to raise a complaint.
Residents of Brazil
Your rights. Confirmation of processing; access; correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated information; anonymisation, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data; portability; deletion of information processed with consent; information about entities we have shared your data with; information about the consequences of withholding consent; and revocation of consent.
We use profiling and analytics to understand how the Site is used and for marketing and fraud prevention, but not to make decisions that significantly affect you. To exercise your rights, email support@osamiofficial.com with the subject line "Brazil Privacy."
Residents of Australia and New Zealand
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to update or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. Email support@osamiofficial.com with the subject line "AU Privacy." When your personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it. If you lodge a complaint, we will investigate and notify you of the outcome.
Links to other websites
We may link to third-party sites or display third-party content. These sites have their own privacy practices, independent of ours. We are not responsible for their policies, content, or actions, and we encourage you to review their policies before engaging with them.

This policy is effective as of the date at the top. We may update it at any time and will revise that date when we do. For material changes, we will notify you through the Site or by email.
